So there I was, just kidding I just like to start all of my stories that way. Seriously, I was born in Coleman, Texas, but spent the majority of my school career in Stephenville. I am currently going to Tarleton State in order to fulfill the dream the Lord has placed in my heart to coach young men in football and life. I was in the process of trying to streamline my life for the purpose of getting out of college as fast as I could when the Lord began to open doors and my eyes to becoming the Children's Minister at Stephenville First Assembly. This went against my idea of streamlining, although I have never doubted that I am where the Lord wants me.

My favorite thing about being the Children's Minister at SFA is being able to work together with my wife and son. This experience has been great for our family; we get the opportunity to work together for the Lord and it doesn’t get any better than that!!!! Speaking of my son, his name is Aston Tyler Martin. I wanted to name him just Aston Martin like the car, but his mom won that battle (I digress). Aston enjoys most sports, unfortunately video games, and his favorite subject in school is math (Praise the Lord).

One of my goals in ministry if for children to not have a testimony when they grow up that begins with "in my bad days" or back when I was "young and dumb". I believe as ministers we can help children achieve a real and thriving relationship with the Lord so they won’t have to be bad before becoming good, or hit rock bottom before they look up and cry out to the Lord. I believe children can live a life that resembles Joseph’s; circumstances around them may change, but their faith and relationship with God will never waiver.
