| LIFE STORY |
I was born in Brownwood, Texas to Milton and Lone Bledsoe in 1943. My dad was a sergeant during WW II. He and my mom meet while he was stationed at Camp Bowie outside of Brownwood. He was originally from Tyler, Texas. My mom lived most of her life in Brown County. After his military service my dad attended and graduated Daniel Baker College and taught school until his death in 1955. My mom became a teacher three years after his death and taught at Early, Texas for 35 years. I attended school in Sidney (Comanche County), Early, and Brownwood (both in Brown County). While at Brownwood High School I played on 3 championship teams in football, and 2 championship teams in baseball. I graduated from Howard Payne University and carried on the family tradition by teaching 6th grade at Early while also working a part-time job to supplement my income. My teaching career lasted for 5 years. After a divorce, a new job (railroad), and a new wife, who turned my life around and got me back on track (railroad joke), I started going back to church again and renewed my fellowship with Jesus and God. I grew up in a Baptist church. I gave my life to Christ and was baptized in 1954. I had a 33 year career as a conductor on the Santa Fe Railroad which later merged with Burlington Northen and was called BNSF. I worked 20 years in Brownwood, 7 years in Temple, and 6 years in Stephenville commuting back and forth to Ft. Worth until my retirement in 2006. Linda and I moved to Stephenville in August, 2000. After visiting several churches I was sure Stephenville First Assembly was where I was supposed to be. I currently serve as a Trustee, as a leader in Eagle's Wings, and work as grounds keeper for the church. |
